Before you use the output
Rows containing only whitespace are removed. Actual list items keep their order. This differs from joining all lines into a paragraph: the surviving line breaks remain. Do not remove empty rows from a fixed-position record without checking the format, since a blank field can have meaning. For normal reading copy, keep paragraph separation that helps readers follow the text.
